POST-TREATMENT APICAL PERIODONTITIS: Why Do Root Canals Fail?

The course Post-Treatment Apical Periodontitis: Why Do Root Canals Fail? held on November 5, 2024, was presented by Dr. Mahmood Abu Ruja and Dr. Gillian Landzberg. The course focused on understanding the causes of root canal failures, particularly post-treatment apical periodontitis, and provided strategies to prevent these issues. Dr. Mahmood Abu Ruja is a Prosthodontics clinician-scientist with over 10 years of experience. He holds an MSc and Ph.D. from the University of Toronto and specializes in dental materials, Zirconia bonding, and implant complications. Dr. Abu Ruja is a Prosthodontics instructor at U of T and also runs a private practice.

Dr. Gillian Landzberg, D.D.S., FRCD(C), is an endodontist who completed her specialty training at U of T, where she was awarded the top resident award. She has worked in general and emergency dentistry and currently serves as a clinical instructor in endodontics at U of T.
