SoniDent At CAE AGM 2024 , Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON

🎉 Celebrating 60 Years of Excellence with CAE! 🎉

SoniDent is thrilled to be a part of the Canadian Academy of Endodontics' historic 60th anniversary. As pioneers in Endodontics, CAE has been instrumental in shaping the industry and advancing dental care. We're honored to attend this milestone event, reflecting on the past achievements and looking forward to a future of innovation and excellence in dental health.

The Canadian Academy of Endodontics (CAE) was founded on September 23rd, 1964, in the auditorium of the University of Toronto's new dental school. Led by dentists specializing in or heavily practicing endodontics, including George Hare, Cal Torneck, Al Tompson, and others from Toronto and nearby regions, the group aimed to establish a national organization promoting endodontic education and practice in Canada. They officially received incorporation papers on March 21st, 1965, marking the start of CAE and its mission to elevate the field amidst prevailing dental practices favoring extraction over root canal treatments. Here's to 60 years of leadership and countless smiles! 🦷✨

There will be outstanding speakers and presenters at the CAE, including Dr. Shimon Friedman's lecture on the last day.

Friday 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM

He will be covering: CONTRACTED ENDODONTIC CAVITY AND CANAL PREPARATION – IS LESS MORE?

The occurrence of tooth/root fracture is a well-recognized cause of tooth loss after endodontic treatment. It has been attributed to tooth structure removal associated with traditional endodontic cavity and canal instrumentation concepts. This understanding has given rise to novel Contracted Endodontic Cavity (CEC) designs that highlight directed dentin conservation while discarding traditional principles of outline and convenience form, and to minimal canal instrumentation/shaping, both in line with the contemporary concept of minimally invasive dentistry. It has been argued that removal of less tooth structure during access and canal preparation may increase fracture resistance of teeth potentially resulting in extended long-term survival; however, it has also been argued that it may compromise canal disinfection potentially resulting in impaired periapical healing. This lecture will describe the clinical applications of CEC and minimal canal instrumentation/shaping and review contemporary research into their possible impacts in specific tooth types. The potential benefits and risks associated with contracted endodontic cavity and canal preparation will be debated in the context of minimally invasive endodontics, along with options for clinicians to consider.

Learning Objectives: Upon completion, the participants will be able to:

  • Explain the rationale for contracted endodontic cavity designs
  • Describe how various contracted endodontic cavity designs differ from traditional designs
  • Discuss the contemporary research on the various impacts of contracted endodontic cavity designs and minimal canal preparation
  • Debate the benefits and risks of contracted endodontic cavities and minimal canal preparation and the clinical options for clinicians

**Looking forward to seeing you there, not to mention a surprise sale that will be happening on August 22-23rd , in person in the CAE or online if you can’t make it.
