How to Use Dr. Castellucci’s Access Cavity Kit
Each tip in the Access Cavity Kit is uniquely designed for a specific clinical application.
Below is a guide to ensure proper usage and maximize efficiency:
A-C Tip ED101: Finishing Access Cavity Walls
Use to refine the walls of access cavities in molars and premolars.
Position the tip at a 110° angle for optimal visibility and control.
Work in dry mode for aggressive cutting or with irrigation to maintain a clear field and prevent overheating.
A-C Tip ED102: Finding the MB2 Canal
Place the tip along the groove between the mesiobuccal and palatal canals.
Use back-and-forth motion with light pressure to locate and relocate the MB2 canal entrance.
Employ irrigation to cool the tip and remove debris for better visualization.
A-C Tip ED103: Removing Calcifications and Fiber Posts
For calcifications: Target only the pathological deposits, preserving healthy dentin.
For fiber posts: Focus vibrations on the core of the post, alternating dry and irrigated modes for effective removal.
A-C Tip ED104: Decrementing Metal Posts
Apply vibrations directly to the head of the post.
Use moderate pressure while rotating the tip around the post’s head.
Alternate dry and irrigated modes to avoid overheating and ensure safe decrementing.
A-C Tip ED105: Finishing the Pulp Chamber Floor
Use to remove calcifications or old restorative materials without altering the natural anatomy.
Work with irrigation to avoid overheating and achieve a smooth, convex chamber floor.
General Tips:
Operate each tip within 60–90% of the ultrasonic unit's maximum power, depending on the tip.
Ensure proper handpiece connections (EMS or Satelec).
Alternate between dry and irrigated modes as required for precision and cooling.
