This full-day lecture, presented by Dr. Amir Azarpazhooh, DDS, MSc, FRCD(C) (DPH), CERT. Lecture 1: Cracked Tooth – Keep it or Remove it?

Cracked teeth remain one of the most challenging diagnoses in clinical dentistry. This session will review the best available evidence regarding the classification, risk factors, prevention, detection, and treatment of cracked teeth.

• Differentiate between five types of tooth fractures: craze lines, fractured cusps, cracked teeth, split teeth, and vertical root fractures.

• Understand their etiology, detection methods, impact on pulpal health, treatment options, and prognosis.

• Learn an evidence-based algorithm for shared decision-making in managing cracked teeth.

Lecture 2: The Endodontic-Restorative Continuum – Recommendations and Considerations Based on the Best Available Evidence

Endodontic treatment is a significant investment, especially when followed by core and crown placement. This lecture explores how restorative choices impact long-term clinical success, reviewing biomechanical principles and evidence-based strategies for treatment planning.

Learning Objectives:

• Understand how restorations affect pulp and strategies to preserve pulpal health.

• Review the importance of temporization and permanent restoration after endodontic treatment.

• Explore case selection criteria for post placement in restoring endodontically treated teeth.
