The BT8 Tip is a specialized laser tip designed for biostimulation and therapeutic applications. It operates at a low-power setting to promote healing, reduce sensitivity, and alleviate pain. This tip is ideal for procedures such as wound healing, dentin hypersensitivity treatment, and burning mouth syndrome relief.
How to Use the BT8 Tip
1. Preparation:
- Ensure the BT8 Tip is clean and sterilized before use.
- Attach the tip to the biostimulation handpiece by screwing it clockwise until firmly secured.
2. Laser Setup:
Select the appropriate preset treatment program on the device (e.g., Wound Healing or Dentin Hypersensitivity) or adjust the laser settings manually:

- Move the tip back and forth or in gentle, circular motions over the affected region to ensure even coverage.
- Typical treatment duration:
-
Wound Healing: Approximately 1-2 minutes per area.
-
Dentin Hypersensitivity: 60 seconds per sensitive tooth.
-
Burning Mouth Syndrome: Move the light guide back and forth until the entire affected region is treated.
4. Post-Treatment:
- Once the procedure is complete, carefully remove the BT8 Tip by unscrewing it counterclockwise.
- Clean and sterilize the tip following the manufacturer’s guidelines to maintain hygiene and ensure its readiness for future use.
Important Notes
-
Reusable Tip: The BT8 Tip is designed for multiple uses, provided it is cleaned, disinfected, and sterilized after each treatment.
-
Protective Measures: Both the operator and patient must wear laser-protective goggles during the procedure to prevent accidental exposure to laser radiation.
-
Steady Motion: Keep the tip moving at all times during use to ensure uniform energy distribution and prevent overheating.
-
Inspection: Regularly check the tip for damage or wear and replace it if necessary to maintain treatment efficacy.
